2012 Top Albums

2012 is coming to an end. Did you find music that moved you this year? There was plenty to choose from. Some of the big names put out albums and some new guys started making a lot of noise in the scene. I sat down and looked at the albums that have had the biggest impact on me this year and no surprise  there weren't very many of the big names in Texas and Oklahoma music on my list. For the most part the bigger names put out a quality product but to me it seemed as most of it had been done before. So, now that I have said that and likely struck a few of you the wrong way. Here is my list of the top albums of 2012. Purely my opinion folks. Enjoy.
  1. Jason Eady- AM Country Heaven
  2. The Departed- Adventus
  3. Tom Skinner- (Self titled)
  4. Ray Wylie Hubbard- The Grifter's Hymnal
  5. Chris Knight- Little Victories
  6. Chad Sullins & The Last Call Coalition- Incommunicado
  7. Turnpike Troubadours- Goodbye Normal Street
  8. Uncle Lucius- And You Are Me
  9. Camille Harp- Little Bit of Light
  10. Parker Millsap- Palisade

Tis The Season Thursday- Kevin Fowler Santa Got Busted

Staying with the holiday theme on this Thursday post. There have been a ton of Christmas songs released this year, and that's all I have to say about that. I spent 6 years in retail before I joined the military so 10 hours a day of Christmas music for 3 months can burn you out on the stuff for life. That being said. This one is my favorite so far this year. Check out  Santa Got Busted By The Border Patrol courtesy of Kevin Fowler.
